What is Lifeport Welcome Center?

Lifeport Welcome Center (LWC) is a public portal for talent, new developments, business, innovation and education in food, health and energy. It’s a public portal that’s all about living, working, studying and doing business in Lifeport, the innovation network of the Arnhem – Nijmegen region.

Apart from being a well-connected border region with much greenery and a rich history, we harbour high-tech, creative and innovative companies, advanced universities, state-of-the-art hospitals and hubs in the fields of food, health and energy. We are proud of our exciting architecture, highly interesting museums and attractions, and much more besides. The core values that we stand for are: 'relaxed' (the people, the surroundings), 'healthy' (the economy, nature) and 'innovative' (the entrepreneurs, and training courses).

Initiators

The four initiators are of Lifeport Welcome Center are Radboud University, the Province of Gelderland, The Economic Board, the municipalitie of Nijmegen and the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst – IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service). This web portal contributes to the marketing of our region. Lifeport Welcome Center does not replace city marketing, but is rather a supplement to already existing marketing infrastructure.

Radboud University is the host of this project. Radboud University is the best traditional,  general university of the Netherlands, situated on a green campus south of the Nijmegen city centre. Our university wants to contribute to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all.

Vacancy database

A major attraction of the portal is a vacancy database that provides access to English-language vacancies within a radius of 20 km around the Arnhem – Nijmegen - Wageningen area. Our organization only provides information about the region for the people that are currently living here and for people who are interested in coming here. Lifeport Welcome Center doesn’t offer actual jobs or mediate with companies. Click on the company logo’s below to get redirected to their career pages and find job offers for each company. At those vacancies you will find contact information of the people who can give additional support and can help you with all your questions.

Services for Internationals

In order to assist expats upon arrival and during their first months in the Netherlands, a distinctive collaboration has been set up between Lifeport Welcome Center and private service providers. Our service-map redirects expats to service providers in a wide variety of expat-related sectors, including: Formalities, Housing, Taxation, Finance & Insurance, Education & Careers, Personal & Social Needs, and Culture & Leisure.

Welcome Center Food Valley

In addition to Lifeport Welcome Center's online platform, the Lifeport network-region is provided with two on-site platforms or welcome centers: Lifeport Welcome Center @Radboud University in Nijmegen and Welcome Center Food Valley in Wageningen. Both centers offer (part of) the services that the parties offer via the online platform through integrated procedures and programs.
