Official procedures Official procedures If you're coming to the Netherlands to live here, there are various procedures you need to consider. Certain things are the same for every resident, like the mandatory basic insurance and municipal registration, while others might differ per municipality. We're also going to give you some information on different types of insurance in the Netherlands, as there are quite a few. Most of these are not mandatory, but some of them are highly practical and you should at least consider them.
